On August 21st, I went to Indianapolis, Indiana for the IndyFringe Festival that was happening from August 22nd to August 23rd. This began as a collaboration with Thirty West Publishing House’s client Kristine Esser Slentz, co-founder of the event that amasses tons of creatives, artists, poets, actors, and performers.
My goal was to sell Thirty West Publishing House merchandise including chapbooks, fiction, short-story collections, poetry collections, and the like. On the first day (a hot, sunny day) my significant other and I set up underneath the over-hanging of one of the theatres holding performances for the IndyFringe Festival. There, we interacted with readers and artists for the festival!
On the second day (a windy one), I met children’s book author and artist Vernon Bateman, an incredible chance-meeting that I will never forget. We connected with more readers and artists, spreading the love of reading. The highlight of this event was meeting Kristine, who traveled all the way from New York! It was a successful tabling event, and I will have many more with Thirty West Publishing House in the future.
